The Red Duke is a Blood Dragon Vampire Lord.The main goal of Total War: Warhammer 3's siege rework is to make battles more interesting once the attackers break through a settlement's outer walls. Skill-wise, the Red Duke's tree is almost identical to the Red Dragon, save for the surprising lack of two generic Vampire Lord skills (Aura of Dark Majesty & Dark Pact). When compared to the Red Dragon Vampire lords, he has 8 more Melee Defense an 30 more Weapon Strength (20 ordinary and 10 AP damage), but doesn't have the bonus vs. The Red Duke has 140 more health than the ordinary vampire lords (Red Dragon Bloodline or vanilla), and unlike other Red Dragons (similarly to the ordinary vampire lords or the Von Carstein Bloodline ones) he is shielded (35 parry). ↑ Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells. When facing them, it is best to take them out before they can enter melee. Use them to counter other strong melee units. Some also have melee-focused skills like Charge Defence. ↑ Melee Expert: Melee Experts might have a very strong melee attack or melee defence, or high values in both. As it can only damage very few individuals at a time, it is not suitable against hordes of weak enemies. ↑ Duellist: This unit is best used to attack individual targets such as Lords or Heroes. Shields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc. ↑ Armoured & Shielded: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.

However, he was struck down by mysterious illness that claimed his body and ravaged his soul. He was once the Duke of Aquitaine, a mighty warrior who quested determinedly in the Lady’s name. He is an Undead scourge upon the Kingdom, but it was not always so. So it is with the Red Duke a warrior of terrifying renown who now wages war across Bretonnia in search of ever-greater power. The histories of Bretonnia are littered with Dukes who err from the path of righteousness and fall, irreparably, into madness and depravity.
